~Maria Higginson Sampler 1837~ Pattern
This sweet little sampler is an adaptation of an antique sampler in my collection. I substituted cross stitch flower stems in the bottom corners and butterflies in the top corners where the antique had a bit of embroidery. I think the house is my all time favorite on this sampler, it is magnificent. And the little dog or cat, I’ll let you decide, on the path to the front door. I stitched this sampler on 36 count Weeks Dye Works Linen ~Straw~ with Weeks Dye Works threads 1334 Merlot 1330 Baked Apple 1266 Caper 1265 Garrison Green 2239a Carolina Cecil 2104 Deep Sea 2103 Pea Coat 1124 Sandcastle 1201 Putty 1269 Chestnut 2237 Hazelnut
