Description

Young Bonnie Jean stitched this sampler which although contains no place name, one can indeed be fairly certain of her ethnicity being Scottish due to the revealing typically Scottish large alphabets with scrolling filigree, the various crowns, bright vibrant oranges, pinks, reds and greens, the little dogs, perhaps Scottish terriers, the stylized peacocks and overall layout of this charming, rather primitive sampler. Although Jean followed tradition with her motifs, her sampler was very original in color and choice of stitches, often changing midstream! The overall effect is charming and unique. Stitch Count 155 x 243 Charted with NPI silks in eighteen luscious colors, suggesting Hogbristle Linen by Fox and Rabbit Design to best match the original. Conversions for DMC, AVAS and Cosmo provided.
