Suggested Fabric: linen or aida in ivory or cream tone Floss: DMC Stitch Count For Wisdom: 83 w x 123 h Original Size for Wisdom: 5 inches x 7 Stitch Count for Honour: 89 w x 115 h Original Size for Honour: 5 ½ inches x 7 ½ The Antique: cross stitch only over two threads throughout with hemstitched border on 32 count linen with cotton threads. No providence could be found about Ellen herself. Description: Two simple and beginner style cross stitch samplers are found in Ellen Kingscote’s English sewing and needlework lesson book dating to the 1840s along with samples of her sewing, darning, buttonhole, knitting and embroidery work. The samples are mounted with sewing thread on fine tissue paper on a double pink page with a single blue insert page.
