The Coleus and the Pear - inspired by an antique from my collection. I was immediately drawn to the nontraditional shape of the sampler, long and narrow and the alphabet worked in one long row.... only 3 7/8" wide! The antique was worked on canvas with wool. No signature, no date. I took some liberties with this piece, using green floss for the flower stems, adjusted the bow, and added a 2nd blue to the piece. So, not a true reproduction, but no less, inspired by an antique piece of needlework

Finished size - 13 7/8" x 3 7/8"
