I am happy to announce that Brenda Gervais of With Thy Needle and Thread will be our featured designer for the Summer 2025 Farm Girl Gathering, June 5-8 at The Hotel Millwright in Amana, Iowa. The cost of the retreat will be $625 and includes all access to retreat activities, kit and includes delicious catered meals (lunch and dinner) by The Hotel Millwright on Friday and Saturday. The food is outstanding, you won't be disappointed. Gluten free, vegetarian and vegan meals are available for those with special dietary needs. Lodging is not included but a discounted room block has been reserved at the Hotel Millwright and there are Bed & Breakfast options around Amana. 

Brenda has planned a wonderful summer themed design for us! You will receive an exclusive kit from Brenda as well as some fun goodies! The picture of Brenda is from the last Farm Girl retreat where she was our featured designer. She's pictured with Shannon B., a fellow Minnesota girl and a Farm Girl retreat attendee staple.  Behind them you'll see Brenda's collection of "show towels". She gave a wonderful lecture on the history and brought her collection to share. I can't wait to see and hear what she has in store for us this time! You won't want to miss it! 

We will also have additional activities that are always optional for you to participate, including a "smalls" exchange. These are always so much fun, so I really encourage you to participate! 

The Amana colonies are a cluster of 7 little villages all designed to be within a day’s walk of each other. Originally settled by German immigrants, the villages were home to the longest living communal society to date. The Hotel Millwright was once the local woolen mill and was converted into a hotel just a few years ago. The building has an industrial farmhouse vibe and is loaded with history. Many artifacts from the mill are used around the hotel as decor and parts of the mill are still in operation. You can tour the mill during the retreat, free of charge. The rooms are beautiful and offer luxury bedding, oversized walk-in shower with luxury shower heads, coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave, flat screen tv, wi-fi and friendly staff. The retreat will be held in their 2nd story, Merino Loft. At one time, this room housed an industrial loom and now offers great space for a retreat with huge windows all around the room that provide great natural lighting. The streets of Amana are lined with charming homes in a style that is unique to the colonies. Shopping is something you will love to enjoy. Main street is loaded with antique and "unique to Amana" shops. You're sure to find a few treasures to bring home with you! 

Deets: Doors will open at noon on June 5 (Thursday) and we usually wrap it up around 10pm on Saturday evening. The stitching room will be open each day by 8am and will close at 10pm. Thursday is more casual, and you will be free to come and go as you please. No meals will be provided so you have an opportunity to explore the neighborhood a bit before we settle in! 

Due to the nature of this event all payments are non-refundable and non-transferable so please register with confidence. 

1.  You will need to download the registration form for this event. This is something new for those of you who have attended previously! Please read instructions thoroughly to avoid confusion and errors! 

2.  You will add this item to your cart. PLEASE DO NOT ADD ANY ADDITIONAL ITEMS TO YOUR CART OR YOUR ENTIRE ORDER WILL BE REFUNDED AND CANCELED! You will only be able to register one person at a time. Please use the correct email address for each registrant. We will use the email provided at checkout for future communication.  Check out as usual. You will NOT BE CHARGED. 

3.  You will receive a confirmation email with a PDF download. The PDF contains the registration form. You will need to print the form, complete in its entirety (your registration is not complete unless all portions of the form are filled out) and you will mail your form, with your $300 non-refundable deposit (final payment of $325 will be due on April 1st) to the address on the form. Your payment will need to arrive to us within 14 days of registering for the event or your registration will be cancelled, and your spot will be made available. Please note: you will have the option for an electronic payment but you will be assessed 5% to cover the fees associated with electronic payments. You will indicate your preferred payment method on your registraion form. We will send you a link and your payment will be processed through our secure website. We are PCI compliant and will not accept credit card numbers on registration forms or via phone to protect your credit information.
