This color is a cool beige neutral. Saltash is an imaginary amalgam of salt and soda ash, two of the inorganic compounds (of which there are four categories - salts, bases, acids and water) that are integral to the process of transforming a basic white linen into the rich variety of colors that we stitchers enjoy. Saltash also happens to be the name of a small town in south Cornwall, England. It sits on The Tamar, which is a saltwater or tidal river.
